This article defines how data will be pushed from Quoter to Salesforce. Learn more about integrating with Salesforce in this article.

Module Mapping

Person

When creating a Quote in Quoter, you can search for an existing Salesforce Contact using our Person Search feature or create new ones automatically.

The following Salesforce Contact and Account fields are searched when using Person Search:

  • First Name

  • Last Name

  • Email Address

  • Work Phone

  • Organization

When creating or editing a new Person in Quoter, the information will be pushed to a Salesforce Contact and Account. Quoter will try to match Contacts by email address and Account by name. If nothing is found in Salesforce, a new entry will be created, otherwise Quoter will use the first result found.

Quote

When a Quote is created or updated in Quoter, the Salesforce Opportunity will be updated with the value of the Quote, and if enabled Quoter Quotes will also be posted as Salesforce Quotes in addition to Salesforce Opportunities.

When a Salesforce Opportunity is created, the Opportunity name will be automatically generated based on the Quote Name and the Quote Number.

When a Quoter Quote is won or lost, Quoter will update the status of the Salesforce Opportunity and Quote Status (if Salesforce Quotes are enabled) according to the mapping settings you configure.

When creating a Quote in Quoter, you can pull existing Salesforce Products into Quoter Quotes in real-time.

*If the Default Expiration (In Days) field under Settings > Quote Expiry Date is set to '0' the Close Date in Salesforce will be set to one year from the date the Quote was created. When the Quote is Won, Salesforce will automatically change the Expiration Date to the current date.

**Salesforce Account, Contact, and Opportunity Owners will be associated with Salesforce users that matches with Quoter users by email address.

*If the Default Expiration (In Days) field under Settings > Quote Expiry Date is set to '0' the Expiration Date in Salesforce will be set to one year from the date the Quote was created. When the Quote is Won, Salesforce will automatically change the Expiration Date to the current date.

Item

When a Quoter Quote is pushed into a Salesforce Opportunity, its Items will be posted as Salesforce Products and Opportunity Products. A new Salesforce Product will be created when a matching one is not found by looking up the Product Code and name.

When using the Product Search feature, the same Salesforce Product will be associated with the Opportunity Products.

Item Category will be matched with Product Family, and price will be synced into the Standard Price Book.

Taxes, Discounts, and Shipping are currently not synced to Salesforce.

If Post Quoter Items as Salesforce Products is enabled, the Salesforce Opportunity amount will automatically be calculated by Salesforce based on the Quoter Line Item prices
