Use this article when a Quoter quote fails to push to Datto Autotask PSA and the error references ownerResourceID.

Symptoms

The quote remains stuck or the push fails with an Autotask API error similar to:

Reference value on field: ownerResourceID of type: Resource does not exist or is invalid.

This error occurs while Quoter is creating or updating an Autotask opportunity. The opportunity owner is required by Autotask, and Quoter must provide a valid Autotask resource ID.

Common causes

The most common causes are:

  • No Default Sales Rep is selected in the Quoter–Autotask integration settings.

  • The selected default sales representative was deleted, deactivated, or otherwise no longer exists as a valid Autotask resource.

Quoter attempts to match the quote user to an Autotask resource by email. If no matching employee is found, Quoter uses the configured Default Sales Rep instead. See Integrating with Datto Autotask PSA.

Resolution

Set or update the Default Sales Rep

  1. In Quoter, go to Settings > Integrations.

  2. Open the Datto Autotask PSA integration.

  3. In the opportunity settings, select an active Autotask resource for Default Sales Rep.

  4. Save the integration.

The selected resource must still exist and be active in Autotask.

Retry the quote

After saving the integration changes, Quoter should automatically retry the failed request. Check the Quote’s integration request status to confirm that the push succeeds.

If the quote remains stuck:

  • Reopen the Autotask integration settings and confirm that Default Sales Rep is still populated.

  • Confirm that the selected resource is active in Autotask.

  • Confirm that the Quote user’s email matches an active Autotask resource.

  • Capture the Quote number, customer name, and the latest integration error before contacting ScalePad Support.
